Opening road section closed by signal system, esp. traffic light system, e.g. for fire engines, police cars and ambulances

The method involves fitting the vehicles with transmitters which transmit a release signal to receivers in the traffic light systems which then clear the road sections on receiving the signal. The power of the transmitter and receiver are set up so that traffic light system opens the road section before the vehicle reaches the traffic lights. The traffic light system emits a special light signal when the receiver receives the release signal. The transmitter transmits the release signal at a special frequency in the 2 metre band.
