The mixture is supplied to at least one separator (11) and the metal deposits and/or other heavy substances settle on same. The mixture can be stirred beforehand by a stirrer (2) so that the heavy substances, metals etc are evenly distributed in the fluid in a container (1). The mixture passes from the container through an outlet pipe (8) to the separator. The mixture flows into a trough of the separator so that the heavy substances settle. The mixtures flows cascade like into a further lower trough and the heavy substances are deposited with a simultaneous reduction in the current speed. The separator is preferably a trough with ring wall and base with further trough set lower and outside same ADVANTAGE : Lower cost design. Suitable for removing heavy substances and particles of dirt as well as metals.
