A multiposition textile machine which produces cross- wound packages has an automatic bobbin changer with a magazine for empty tubes at each position. The tubes are fed by a two- part swing arm consisting of a support link (32) which is hinged in the housing and which supports a carrier link (33) rotating about an axis (39). A drive (49) actuates a tube gripper (34). Pref. the gripper (34) at the end of the hinged arm picks up an empty tube from the magazine and places it into the chuck of the winder during the doffing and tube changing cycle. A pref. compact construction is achieved by making the support for the support link (32) a hollow tube (35) so that it can carry within it the drive shaft (40) for operating the actuating rod (44) for the carrier link (33). Movement of the carrier link (33) is limited by stops (46,47) engaging a lug (45). The lower gripper finger (61) is operated through a double lever (51) by the actuator piston and can be adjusted by a setting mechanism (62). The other finger (58) carries a tube guide (60) and can be adjusted in its support (59).
