The magnetic resonance appts. includes a magnetic current supply for magnetising and demagnetising the coil arrangement. A gradient current supply provides time-variable currents to the gradient coils. The gradient current supply is connected to the magnetic current supply and at least one gradient coil via a switching arrangement for selective electrical connection to the magnetic current supply or the gradient coil. The magnetic current supply is in close proximity to the coil arrangement. The coil arrangement itself is disposed in a container filled with cooling liquid. The cooling liquid also cools the magnetic current supply.
