The arrangement involves a second electrodynamic geophone (3) which is used on a parallel axis to the first geophone (1). The receiving head (4) of the second geophone is pointed in the opposite direction to that of the first geophone (2). The first geophone is set at 180 degrees in relation to the second geophone and they are electrically connected in series. They may be placed horizontally or vertically.
