The rack (1) consists of a frame (2) formed of two longitudinal bearers (3,4) and at least two cross bearers (5,6) linking them. The frame carries front and rear gas fixing points (30,31) with rings (16,15) at its front and rear ends. At least one of these fixing points can be moved along the rack and locked. The internal diameter (d1) of the fixing points is not more than that of the gas bottle. A sector of the gas bottle projects through each of the fixing points so that the bottle is held by them.
