The device provides an afocal broadband optical system (VO) including a permanent magnet (MA) for the connector of the common entry window (EF). The magnet operates a reed switch (RR) in the electronic processing circuit (EL) of the orientation system. A logic component indicates by means of LEDs (AZ) mirrored in the daylight channel of a periscopic sight (PV) that the missile is on its launching ramp with the optical system fitted. An output signal is given to the steering (LA), and readiness for launch is indicated by a combination of steady and flashing lights in the plane of crosswires.
