A brush for mechanical cleaning scratch-sensitive painted surfaces especially has a brush base with, fixed to it, bristles (2) of flocked yarn. Also claimed is a process for manufacturing the brush as follows: production of a thermoplastic core; application of an adhesive layer to the core; exposure of the core to an electrostatic field; fixing the flock in the electrostatic field to the adhesive layer to obtain a flocked yarn and; fastening the flocked yarns as bristles to a brush body. Also claimed is the procedure for cleaning scratch-sensitive surfaces using the above brush where the bristle cores do not come into contact with the surfaces being cleaned. Also claimed is application of the brush as an element of a rotating wash roller in car wash lines.
