Optical detonator for detonation of multiple charges in blasting operations

The optically triggered detonator has a cylindrical casing (1), a light inlet (5), a layer of prim. light-sensitive layer of explosive material (3), and a sec. explosive material (2). The prim. light-sensitive explosive material (3) is a mixt. contg. 80-95% hydrazine- tetrazol-mercury(11)-perchlorate and 5-20% of a thermoplastic material which is transparent to laser light. The layer of prim. light sensitive explosive material (3) is 0.5-3 mm thick.
