The method involves storing in the receiver and regulation of the read-out timing. The bits of the received and decompressed data burst are accumulated and the clocking information is derived with quartz stabilisation, by comparison with the regenerated and read out data. The transfer rate and phase are regulated and a new burst can always be accurately received if the current burst is brought to a residual state constrained by the tolerances associated with the quartz. Reading the burst with quartz stabilisation removes the need for additional clock information.
