The radio wristwatch has a receiver for receiving radio signals. With the reaching of a reference setting, a time reception with a predetermined number of reception tests is provided (112,113) with a max. of five tests. The number of tests with a successive time reception is reduced after a previous unsuccessful time reception by one test (114). At least one reception test per time reception takes place. After at least two successive unsuccessful time receptions, a receiving mode is provided, with only once per week, with the reaching of the reference setting a time reception is started (116).
