Domestic water effluent treatment process

Process to treat especially household effluent water, the water is discharged through a filter bed to a storage basin and reed bed in which biological pollutants are removed and treatment additives are introduced. The novelty is that the process consists of the following stages: (a) the coarse-grained filter-bed is filled with a measured quantity of effluent water; (b) water is drained from the filter bed core through the periphery to an outlet; (c) the filter bed core and filter bed are moistened with waste water and suspended solids and nutrients are added for the microorganisms in the water; (d) air is sucked into the filter bed, beginning at the core as water drains from the core to the periphery; (e) ambient air permeates through the filter bed, as water drains from the periphery to the outlet; (f) microorganisms and the surface of the waste water are exposed to oxygen; (g) a sample of water is tested for purity at the outlet; (h) water is recycled from the outlet to the filter bed until the required purity is achieved; (i) ambient air is expelled from the filter bed while a rinse process agitates the microorganisms, suspended solids are introduced into the filter bed and water from the outlet is recycled; (j) water is recycled from the outlet until the required outlet purity level is achieved; (k) clean water is discharged, and (l) the process cycle is repeated with a new batch (a).
