The method involves establishing two or more channels via a radio interface between the network's mobile switching centre (MSC) and the mobile radio terminal (MS). The broadband link is divided into subchannels over which the data packets are transmitted between a terminal authority (ENMT) and a network authority (ENNET). The flow of data packets is divided among the subchannels and recombined as decreed by the authorities, with two or more different types of packet defined and supported by the protocol (PROT). The authorities recognise these types and process them differently as different logical links of the same communication layer (L2).
