Accelerating accesses to data elements in communications system database

The method involves performing at least one access routine which is assigned a first and at least one further access parameter for determining a database target address, and which returns a data element as the access result. The first access parameter (LINE) is compared with a parameter value (ALINE) stored in a first address storage region (ARB1). If the comparison result is negative, the first parameter value is stored and the data element stored under the target address is read out as the valid access result and stored in a location selected from a second address memory region using the second parameter. If the comparison result is positive, the selected memory element (SE), or the data element stored in it, is checked for validity wrt. the parameter value; if the check result is positive, the data element (DTI) is returned as the access result.
