Reaction-type DC=DC voltage converter - has MOS switch in series with inductance and another allowing bidirectional current flow in inductance when first switch is off
A reaction-type DC/DC voltage converter circuit has two DC voltage input terminals (60,61) and two DC voltage output terminals (65,66). There is an input-side switch, a series inductance (62) and a condenser (64) in parallel with the load. The switch is of the MOS-type, in series with the inductance. There is a second switch forming a Pi-network with the inductance and condenser, controlled so that current can flow through the latter in the forwards direction when the first switch is turned off. The gate voltage for the first switch has a controlled frequency and keying ratio. The second switch also allows the inductance current to flow in the reverse direction when the first switch is turned off.
