Durable and uniform friction lining, for clutches or brakes

The friction lining comprises e.g. fibres, binder and fillers. The lining is first subjected to a forming process, after which crosslinking of the binder is carried out, in a hardening process. Next, a surface treatment is applied to the lining, e.g. grinding the frictional surface. Finally, further crosslinking of the binder is induced in a hardening process. Also claimed is the corresponding lining process.
