- Fluorinated dioxolane compounds of formulae (I) and (II) are new; in which R1, R2, R3, R4 = hydrogen (H) or 1-4 carbon (C) alkyl; R5 = H, fluorine (F) or -CFXY; X, Y = H, F or 1-4 C alkyl; at least one of R6, R7 and R8 = -CHF-X and the rest = H or 1-4 C alkyl. Also claimed are electrolyte solutions containing (I) or (II) as main solvent; and lithium secondary batteries and double-layer electrical capacitors filled with the solution.
