The ride stability control system monitors the wheel slip of the driven wheels and the non-driven wheels as well as the cornering forces. If understeer or oversteer is detected then the stability controls regulates the brake force to counteract the steering deficiency and allow the vehicle to be driven through the curves with a stable control. If the brakes are applied manually during cornering this braking effect is taken into account in the automatic brake control. To correct for excessive braking the braking forces on the other wheels are adjusted by the stability control, depending on whether the excessive braking is on the driven wheels or on the non driven wheels.
