The apparatus includes a light-receiving surface (3) which contains several pixel lines (1). A charge couple device two-dimensional sensor (4) sequentially shifts the electric-charge signal of each pixel line whose end line (1e) is sequentially output. An image generator (9) condenses the scattered light derived from an observed object (5) to generate an image on the light-receiving surface. A drive circuit (17) drives the sensor so that the shifting velocity of the electrically-charged signal may be in accordance with the image generating speed on the light-receiving surface.
