A press roller for treating a web prod., esp. draining fibrous material web, has a flexible press case (5) with ends (6, 7) each fixed via fasteners (21, 22, 36) to a tensioning disc (8, 9) seated on a cross-carriage (12), the case being clamped between the discs. Adjusters (35, 40) near at least one disc vary the case's circumferential shape in the radial direction or its axial tension over its circumference. Also claimed is a press shoe (1), its press gap (4) formed by the press roller (2) and a counter roller (3).
