Between a spinning frame and automatic winders is a transport system for the cops. These pass through a steaming process. Additionally, equipment is installed to ensure the cops do not retain condensn.. Pref. the conveyor band (L1) from the spinning frame (1) supports the cops on a round plate with central stud, which may have identification details, for selection purposes. Control gates (7,8) are fitted to each end of the steaming arrangement (5), so that storage space (L4) is left, to regulate the vol. of cops, and to create a delay to enable to cops to dry off. In this region, it may also be arranged for equipment to tbe installed to dry off the cops, by hot air, in which case the transport line (L4) may be conc. in a chamber. When the cops have passed through the gate (8), they enter the yarn loose end release mechanism (4). The selected cops then proceed to the respective winder (3) and empty tubes are released to the band (L7) for return to the spinning frame. USE - The steaming process is employed to relax the natural fibres of the yarn following spinning. This prevents snarling at the winder, and other reasons for the treatment.
