The invention relates to a method which allows the reduction of energy losses in water heating installations for space heating combined with dometic-water heating. The energy saving is achieved according to the invention by virtue of the fact that, in a domestic water-heating installation comprising the boiler as energy source, heating-water circuit with charging pump and through-flow storage tank, only when there is a heat demand by means of temperature sensor in the through-flow storage tank and closed heating-water circuit, is the heating water in the boiler further heated and thereafter accumulated in layers in a manner free from turbulence in the through-flow storage tank by means of the charging pump via the cyclone at the end of the heating-water filling stub until the boiler is empty. Thereafter, the heating circuit is shut off again. During the drawing-off operation, the domestic water, which is taken directly from the water supply network, flows through the heating-up pipe coil which is assigned thereto in the upper region of the tank and serves as heat exchanger, and is removed, having been heated, at the draw-off point.
