PURPOSE:To improve coloring optical density and measurement accuracy by incorporating polyvinylalkyl ether in an indicator layer. CONSTITUTION:An integral multilayered analysis element for determining ammonia or ammonia product comprises an indicator layer, a liquid shielding layer, a reagent layer and a developed layer laminated in this order on a transparent support. Polyvinylalkyl ether is used as binder in the indicator layer. This is sufficient in sensitivity, and sedimentation occurs by latex to prevent irregularity in application. The support is treated by undercoating binder polymer not containing ammonia which has no influence to background optical density by use of the indicator layer, thereby improving adhesion of the indicator layer. As a result, background optical density drops and further a base line is stabilized to have precision improved.
