A water-dispersible, organic silicon-containing composition comprising (a) alkylalkoxysilane and/or a condensate thereof, (b) a nonionic emulsifier and an anionic emulsifier, (c) a bactericide or fungicide and (d) water, or comprising said components and (e) a water-dispersible resin and (f) a pigment. The composition has antibacterial and antifungal properties, excellent stability when stored for a long period and long-lasting water-absorption preventing performance. It enables an easy distinction to be made between a surface to which the composition has been applied and a surface to which the composition has not been applied immediately after the application of the composition, and is able to provide a concrete surface, etc., with an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
