The armature assembly comprises a generally circular spider having a torque transmitting web made of resiliently yieldable plastic, the web having an outer peripheral portion and having a centrally located hole extending axially through it. An annular armature plate of low magnetic reluctance material is secured to the outer peripheral portion of the web. A mounting disc is located in the hole and joined to the web, and has a centrally located hole extending axially. A tubular hub is formed separately of the disc, and is inserted through the hole in the disc. The hub is sized and shaped to telescope over a shaft. The disc is prevented from moving relative to the hub, and prevents the hub from moving relative to the shaft.
