The device includes a box (1), housing power supply batteries, and having a rectangular shape. A second box (2), attached to the first box, includes green and red lights (3A,B), a tuning potentiometer (5) and a switch (6). Two prongs (8,9) emerging from the first box, are embedded in the soil. the prongs are connected to a measuring module (26) housed in the second box. A two-position switch (7) controls a microphone (17) through which a message can be recorded in a memory (19). The measuring module output is connected to an oscillator (28) and a control module (29) which can trigger the playback of the pre-recorded message.
