The use of a megakaryocytopoiesis stimulating composition including: (A) a substance selected from the group which consists of glycosaminoglycans, analogues thereof and mixtures thereof; and (B) a substance selected from the group which consists of megakaryocyte growth factors and mixtures thereof, for preparing a drug useful for treating thrombocytopaenia, is disclosed. A composition comprising said substances (A, B) for treating thrombocytopaenia is also disclosed.
