The pipe collar (10) for the marking of cables (20) comprises a central rigid shelf shaped part (11) and two lateral legs (12,13) equipped at their free end with connectors (14,15) which join to the end of the other leg. An assembly pallet (30) comprises a long C shaped support plate (31) forming a runner for the marker collars. The plate longitudinal sides (32,33) are folded towards each other and delimit between their edges (34,35) a longitudinal groove (36) whose width is slightly less than that of the central shelf. The plate has a reading window formed by an oblong opening (37) opposite the longitudinal groove. The assembly pallet is extended by a handle (38). The mounting system comprises a clamp (50) having arched jaws (51,52) mounted on a support block (53) which are pivoted between open and closed positions by activating handles (56,57). The support block has a housing (58) between the jaws for receiving the assembly pallet and wedging it at a determined distance from the end faces (62,63) of the jaws. The marker collars assembly pallet has reading window enabling observation of each marker collar as it is fitted.
