The anti-vandalism tarpaulin has flexible strips of metal (4) arranged in a lattice formation and fixed by adhesive on a limited number of peripheral members to the inner surface (7) of the tarpaulin which is used to cover and secure goods on the commercial vehicle. The cross members (4) of the lattice are secured to each other at a limited number of intersections by welding or by adhesive discs (11) and this allows the metallic strips a degree of rotational freedom which frustrates attempts to cut them. An electrical alarm system (14) may be added by means of conducting and insulating coats (13,12).
