Ground clutter simulation for missile pulse radars - has analogue amplitude or phase frequency dependent signal representing small ground position antenna illuminated distance or doppler segment
The clutter simulation provides an analog signal in all the doppler frequency bands representing the ground return from a patch of ground in part of a radar pulse repetition period, simulating the return which a missile would see in flight. For each segment of the pulse repetition period, and for each doppler frequency, taking account of the wave transmitted, the resulting energy reflected in this segment and in this band is calculated, taking account of the missile vector speed and antenna angle disposition. A set of signals for each pulse period segment and ground position allows clutter simulation to be carried out.
