Protection Mechanism for Lunar/Mars Vehicle

The mechanism is mounted on board a lunar vehicle to detect the onset of lunar night. A photoelectric cell (14) measures solar radiation. When the solar night condition is detected, the vehicle activates and unfolds a protection cover. The cover has a translucent section to allow solar radiation to be detected. In addition, electronic circuits are activated to switch the lunar vehicle to standby mode during the lunar night and reset the vehicle following this period.
