Pseudo-spark switching method for low pressure gas electrical switches

The pseudo-spark switching method involves the use of a discharge chamber(1) filled with an ionisable gas under low pressure. Two electrodes are placed inside the chamber, a cathode (6-6') and anode (7-7') which are in the same plane and comprise coaxial discs. The electrodes are placed face to face a small distance apart. Each electrode has a circular slot (8,9) running parallel to the outside of the discs.
