The invention relates to a device for single-sheet delivery in the delivery of a sheet-fed rotary printing press with a chain delivery, in which chain delivery gripper bars (4) extending transversely to the sheet-transport direction are disposed on revolvingly driven transport chains (3) and sheet grippers (5) arranged side by side at intervals are disposed on said gripper bars (4), said sheet grippers (5) gripping the sheets consecutively by their front edges and comprising an adjustable control for delayed sheet release, consisting of revolvingly drivable suction tapes (7) adapted to be supplied with suction air, said suction tapes (7) suction-gripping the delayed-released sheet (10) and transporting it in the sheet-transport direction across a main sheet pile (2) onto a sheet depository (11) movably disposed on the printing-press frame (1). In said device, the suction tapes (7) of the single-sheet delivery are disposed with the planes of their top sides (suction-gripping the delayed-released sheet) in a raised position between the sheet grippers (5), the delayed sheet release being effected by the sheet grippers (5) not until above the suction tapes.
