A device for generating a liquid jet comprising a former 3 defining a cavity partially enclosed thereby, the former supporting an explosive charge 4, and an inflatable liner 14 within the cavity, the liner being filled with liquid. The former 3, charge 4 and bag 14 may be located within a container 9 containing a second liquid-filled bag 13. The explosive charge may comprise detonating cord.
