Yarn assembling and winding machine:automatic removal of yarn defects

The machine assembles feed yarns from bobbins 2 and winds them in parallel on bobbin 27. Each yarn passes through its own detector 9, cutter 10, tensioner 13 and yarn joiner 15 for removing defects. When detector 23 detects a defect in the yarn bundle, cutter 24 cuts the bundle, and suction device 34, 37 pivots to draw cut assembled yarn from bobbin 27 to joiners 15 to be re-joined to feed yarn ends carried thereto by pivoted suction device 17-20. If detector 23 finds that the required number of yarns are not present in the returned bundle, or monitor 32 finds that they have not been withdrawn in phase or together, then bundle cutting and withdrawal is repeated. Monitor 32 has a cutter. and parts ends in the returned bundle. Eyes 11 and tensioners 13 are automatically opened. Feed bobbins are on rotatable supports 1. Reserve feed bobbins have their yarn ends 7', 8' raised by blowers 5. Control 41 controls the devices automatically.
