The blades are mounted on the chipper such that a cut produced by one blade will be overlapped by a succeeding blade. The cutting edge of the finishing blade is radius ground to a slight curvature, The curvature of the cutting edge assures that the plane of cut produced by a first blade will be intersected by a succeeding blade.
