PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of edge wave and center buckle of a hot rolled vertically striped steel sheet. ;SOLUTION: In the hot rolled vertically striped steel sheet 10 having projected line parts and grooved parts alternately at fixed intervals and in parallel to the length direction in the middle part in the width direction on the surface side and also having flat parts on both sides and, on the other hand, the whole surface of the back-face side is flat, the cross-sectional shape of the sheet is adjusted to 0.98-1.02 in the ratio of the thickness t₂ of the flat parts provided on both end parts to the average thickness t_m of the middle part in the width direction which is determined from the length (1) in the middle part in the width direction and the cross-sectional area (s) in the equivalent part to this length.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
