PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject agent, capable of effectively controlling photolysis of chlorophyll in a ornamental plant, enhancing its greenness and photosynthesis capacity, and preventing it from being withered by a pathogenic bacterium, by including cinnamic acid or its derivative and a cyclodextrin. ;SOLUTION: This agent is obtained by including (A) cinnamic acid or its derivative and (B) 1 to 10 mols of a cyclodextrin(CD) per mol of the component A, preferably in the form of a clathrate compound. The preferable cinnamic acid derivatives for the component A include coffeic acid and p-coumaric acid. The preferable CD's for the component B include α-, β- and γ-CD produced by the actions of CD-productive enzymes produced by microorganisms, and also these CD's maltosylated, i.e., α-, β- and γ-maltosyl CD. It is preferable to use the agent at 0.0001 to 0.2 pts.wt. (0.00001 to 0.02 pts.wt. as the cinnamic acid) per 100 pts.wt. of a total culture medium (including soil).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
