PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically change lighting time corresponding to fluctuating vehicle traffic quantity so than no traffic jam occurs or a blue signal is not lighted for long time even if a vehicle does not exist on an inverse direction at the time of regulating one-side alternate traffic by means of a signal for road construction. ;SOLUTION: Automatic vehicle sensors are installed on both ends of a road construction section or at one place in the section. The vehicle sensor measures the number of the passing vehicles and the passing time intervals. One automatic switch device comparing the measured results by individual directions and automatically calculating the signal lighting time required for the individual directions is connected and installed. The signal receiving the calculated result of the signal automatic switch device and automatically switching/lighting the blue and red signals in the respective directions is installed on both side of the construction section or around a necessary entrance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
