PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toll road toll collection system which is extremely effective without increasing the scale of a storage nor increasing the retrieval time. ;SOLUTION: The identification information sent from an information medium carried by a vehicle C is received by a terminal equipment 1 placed at the entrance side of a toll road, and the entrance side information showing the location of the equipment 1 is sent to the information medium in response to the identification information. Then it's decided whether the entrance side information is stored in the information medium. If the said information is not stored yet, the entrance side information and the identification information on the information medium of the vehicle C are sent and stored into a toll collection management device 9A. A terminal equipment 2 placed at the exit side of the toll road decides the identification information on the information medium with respect to the vehicle having the information medium where the storage of the entrance side information is not completed yet and acquires the entrance side information on the information medium stored in the device 9A to collect the foil for the vehicle C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
