PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument and the style changeover control method of an electronic musical instrument capable of imparting a new effect posterior to a style changeover just after the style changeover on a musical sound in the case of performing the changing over of the effect in accordance with the style changeover of an automatic accompaniment and a recording medium on which the style changeover control program of an electronic musical instrument is recorded. ;SOLUTION: A CPU 6 performs a control in order to perform the automatic accompaniment of a specified style. A DSP(digital signal processor) imparts an effect corresponding to the style of the automatic accompaniment on a musical under a control by the CPU 6. In the case the changing over of a style is instructed by the operation of a panel 2, the CPU 6 changes over the style of the automatic accompaniment at a measure line timing posterior to the changeover and changes over an effect to be imparted by the DSP 5 at a point of time earlier than the measure line timing by a quaver.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
