PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to equalize the gain readily for the signal light, which is optically amplified at an optical-fiber amplifier part, at the gain equalizing part having the specified transmission loss spectrum by specifying the deviation of the gains in respective minute wavelengths with a logarithm indication for the specified average gain value. ;SOLUTION: An optical-fiber amplifier part has 2 or more minimum gain values within the signal optical wavelength region at 1535nm or more and 1560nm or less and is adjusted so that the dispersion of the minimum gain values becomes 4% or less with the numerical indication for the specified average gain value. The optical amplifier part of the optical-fiber amplifier is constituted so as to include EDFs 40, 42 and 43, which are substantially connected in the longitudinal direction, and exciting laser beam sources 20-22, which supply the excited light to the EDF. When the inverted distribution is formed in the respective EDFs 40, 42 and 43, the respective EDFs 40, 42 and 43 amplify and output the signal light when the signal light in the wavelength band of 1.55μm is inputted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
