PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin compsn. improved in resistance to the growth of a whisker-like substance in a die. ;SOLUTION: This compsn. contains a poly(phenylene ether) resin, a polyamide resin, and a growth suppressant for whisker-like substances selected from among a non-elastomeric polyolefin resin, a partially fluorinated polyolefin resin, and a mixture of a non-elastomeric polyolefin resin and a partially fluorinated polyolefin resin in an amt. effective for suppressing the growth of a whisker-like substance.
