PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the opening property and abrasion resistance of carbon fiber strand and impregnation ability of a resin on the production of prepreg by sizing with a sizing agent containing a polyester resin and a polyether resin as essential components. ;SOLUTION: A sizing agent containing (A) a polyester resin (preferably, polyethylene terephthalate) and (B) a polyester resin of the formula R₁O(CH₂CH₂ O)_mR₂ [R₁ is a 1-30C alkyl, bisphenol A or phenyl; R₂ is H or glycidyl: (m) is an integer of 1-66] [e.g. polyoxyethylene (m) lauryl glycidyl ether] as essential components at a weight ratio of (60-90):(40-10).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
