Substituted 5,6-dihydro-5-oxo-1,4-dithiino-(2,3-d)-pyridazine-2,3-dicarbonitriles are prepared which correspond to the formula: IMAGE wherein R represents IMAGE wherein X1 is Cl, Br, NO2 or CH3, y is 0 or 1 and n is 0, 1 or 2. These compounds have been found to exhibit antimicrobial and marine antifouling activity in industrial and commercial applications and compositions containing these compounds are so employed.
