PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monkey wrench which ensures continuous works effectively by introducing such a structure that a single wrench can adapt to different nut diameters, the nut jaws are pinched firmly through the wedge effect of a drive screw generated by turning of a lever, and that a movable jaw opens automatically to the max. diameter of the nut when additional tightening is to be made without risk of damaging the angle of the nut. ;SOLUTION: A movable jaw 8 is fitted in through a movable block 7 where a known monkey wrench is used as basis, and a lever 5 and drive piece 11 are coupled together by a boss structure, and the tip of the lever is fastened by a shaft screw 3, and a driving gear 6 is rotated through the drive piece 11 by pulling the lever 5, and the movable jaw 8 is opened and closed when a drive screw 10 coaxial with the gear pushes the idling block 7.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
