PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method for finding the optimum numbers and optimum setting positions of pumping cylinders for controlling the deterioration of water quality in a closed type reservoir by utilizing a technique of gas-liquid two-phase flow three-dimensional fluidizing numerical value analysis and also provide a method for setting the pumping cylinders. SOLUTION: Water temperature comparison points are provided in a computation model by using the computation model approximate to a dam shape, and the numbers and setting positions of pumping cylinders are varied, and the respective lengths of time in which the water temperature at respective water temperature comparison points reaches the average water temperature in a real dam measured preliminarily are compared with one another based on the gas-liquid two-phase flow three-dimensional numerical value analysis, and the numbers and setting positions of the pumping cylinders in the case the time of reaching the average water temperature is shortest is adopted for the optimum numbers and optimum setting positions.
