W/O-TYPE EMULSION PRODUCED BY USING TWO SPECIFIC KINDS OF EMULSIFIERS AS BASE AND ITS APPLICATION TO COSMETIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject emulsion having an aging stability and useful as a component of cosmetic, etc., effective for protecting the skin, hair, etc., from ultraviolet rays by using a specific silicone emulsifier and a specific polymer as essential components. SOLUTION: This emulsion contains (A) 0.2-5wt.% of a silicone emulsifier consisting of a polyalkylene polyether siloxane containing polyoxyethylene chain and polyoxypropylene chain grafted to the main chain, having a number- average molecular weight of preferably =15,000 and expressed by the formula [R1 and R4 are each H, a straight or branched-chain 1-30C alkyl, etc.; R2 is (Cx H2 X)-(OC2 H4 )a -(OC3 H6 )b -OR3 ; R3 is H, a 1-12C straight or branched-chain alkyl, etc.; (n) is 1-1,000; (p) is 1-30; (a) is 1-50; (b) is (a); (x) is 1-5] and (B) 0.2-10wt.% of a preferably polyhydroxylated polyoxyalkylene glycol fatty acid ester polymer having W/O-type emulsifying characteristics.
