PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently apply desulfurizing treatment and the carburizing treatment to molten iron and to produce molten steel in a low cost by injecting desulfurizing agent into molten iron in a molten iron pool part in a molten iron producing vessel through an immersion lance and blowing gaseous oxygen into the desulfurized molten iron in a decarburizing furnace through an oxygen lance. ;SOLUTION: Iron raw material of iron ore, mill scale, etc., carbonaceous material of coke, etc., and slag-making agent are charged into a reaction vessel providing lower tuyeres 4 and upper tuyeres 5 to produce the molten iron, and the molten iron 8 is fed to the molten iron pool part through a siphon hole 6a. The desulfurizing agent of lime, carbide, etc., in a tank 14 is injected into the molten iron 8 with carrier gas of nitrogen, etc., from the lance 13 to execute the desulfurizing treatment. The desulfurized molten iron is tilted into the decarburizing vessel 16 from an iron tapping hole 17 through a tilting trough 17 and the oxygen is blown from the oxygen lance 20 and the decarburizing treatment is executed to the molten iron to produce the molten steel. The desulfurizing treatment is efficiently executed to the molten iron in a little heat energy loss without using the independent desulfurizing device and also, the molten iron is decarburized to produce the molten steel.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
