AGENT FOR FOLIAR APPLICATION AND RIPENING CULTURE OF RICE USING THE FOLIAR APPLICATION AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for the ripening culture of rice capable of improving the yield and quality (taste) of rice by compounding an oligosaccharide to an edible vinegar composed of sugars containing branched oligosaccharide and applying the obtained foliar application agent in the latter half of the ripening culture period of rice. SOLUTION: This foliar application agent is composed of an edible vinegar prepared by the acetic acid fermentation of a mixture of sugars containing branched oligosaccharide and an alcohol for brewing or an edible vinegar prepared by the alcoholic fermentation and acetic acid fermentation of sugars containing branched oligosaccharide and one or more oligosaccharides selected from xylooligosaccharides, non-reduced glucooligosaccharides, soybean oligosaccharides, raffinose, stachyose, melibiose and manninotriose. The agent is applied in the latter half of the ripening culture period of rice by foliar application.
